After Union Government’s approval, necessary action will be taken at District, Taluka and Municipal Corporation level. The State Government has also decided to rename Navi Mumbai international airport as Di Ba Patil Navi Mumbai airport.
Earlier on 29th June 2022, in the last Cabinet meeting under the chairmanship of then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the government decided to rename Aurangabad City as Sambhajinagar and Osmanabad as Dharashiv.
It had also decided to rename Navi Mumbai international airport as Di Ba Patil Navi Mumbai airport. Minutes of this meetings were presented before Mr. Shinde for approval, who asked the administration to re-submit all these proposals before the new Cabinet.
He claimed that the Cabinet meeting chaired by Mr. Thackeray on 29th June was illegal, as the Governor had already asked him to prove the majority.
