Rare 5kg Tumour Removed from Amethi Woman’s Ovarian Follicle in 1.5-Hour Operation

A 5kg ovarian tumour was successfully removed from a woman’s abdomen at a private hospital in Amethi district of Uttar Pradesh. The doctors present at the hospital successfully operated for around one-and-a-half hours and removed the tumour.
A 27-year-old woman residing in Kazipet Rampur Kudwa village in the Gauriganj Kotwali area reached the hospital in critical condition. The woman, named Renu, had an ovarian tumour.
On Wednesday afternoon, after her health condition suddenly deteriorated, her family took her to Keya Hospital & Trauma Centre, located on Jamo Road in Gauriganj town. The doctors, upon seeing her critical condition, advised her family to go for an immediate operation.

After the family’s consent, Renu’s operation began under the leadership of Dr Sanjay Kumar. The operation lasted one-and-a-half hours after which the doctors were able to remove the 5-kg tumour from the woman’s ovary. After the operation, Renu was reported to be out of danger.
According to doctors, it is very rare for such a large tumour to occur in someone’s ovaries. The villagers and family members are also praisies for the hospital staff and the doctors who successfully operated on Renu.

After the operation, junior doctor Neeraj Yadav, present at the hospital, said: “Renu’s operation was successfully performed by Dr Sanjay Kumar. After an operation lasting about one-and-a-half hours, a 5-kg tumour was removed from the woman’s ovary. Following the operation, the woman was reported to be out of danger.”
