In Telangana, the intensity of flood fury at Bhadrachalam began coming down with River Godavari flowing at 70.7 feet this morning while it was flowing beyond 71 feet during wee hours. However, the authorities have kept a close watch over the inflows.
Five teams of Army and 10 teams of NDRF are engaged in rescue operations and Administration is focusing on evacuation from low-lying areas.
About 21 thousand people from about 100 villages and residential areas on riverside have been evacuated to safer locations.
Meanwhile, Special Officer N. Sridhar is monitoring the relief operations at Bhadrachalam. All out efforts are being made to provide food and drinking water to people at the relief centres and medical teams are providing emergency medical services.
District Collector D. Anudeep informed that the government machinery is fully ready to address any eventuality and all measures have been taken to strengthen the river embankment in case of any need.
Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has predicted light to moderate rain likely at some places in the state for next two days.
